Pre-Order Bonuses (All Editions)
Every pre-order (any edition, any platform) includes:
- "First Light" (首灯) Charm — An equippable blessing that slightly increases soul absorption range. Modest but useful in the early game
- Musashi's Travel Garb — An alternate outfit based on historical depictions of Miyamoto Musashi (rough traveling cloak, no armor)
- Exclusive PS5 Theme / Steam Profile Set — Platform-dependent cosmetic bonus
- Alternate sword skins (3): Silver Mist, Crimson Wave, Midnight Edge — purely cosmetic, no stat changes
- Dojo decorations: Additional decorative items for Musashi's dojo hub area
- Title screen variants: Classic Onimusha logo designs (PS2 era)
- 60+ pages of concept art, character designs, environment studies, and Genma creature concepts
- Accessible from the main menu
- Samanosuke's Gauntlet (from Onimusha: Warlords) — Slightly faster Oni Gauge charge rate
- Jubei's Headband (from Onimusha 2) — Increased Issen window (+2 frames)
- Jacques' Cape (from Onimusha 3) — Faster soul absorption speed
- Chain Pull
- Soul Vortex
- Oni Step
- Full OST (physical edition includes a download code; digital editions include MP3/FLAC files)
- Composed by Akihiko Narita (Monster Hunter World, Resident Evil 6)
- Best overall experience: PS5 (DualSense integration is genuinely good) or high-end PC
- Best value: PC (Steam) — regional pricing often beats console, plus mod potential
- Best for portability: Switch 2 (lower performance, but Onimusha on the go)
- You just want to play the game
- You're not interested in cosmetics or art books
- You can earn the "First Light" charm from the demo anyway
- You appreciate game art and behind-the-scenes content
- The ¥40 difference is negligible to you
- This is our recommended choice for most players
- You're a series veteran planning Brutal difficulty runs (Jubei's Headband)
- You want the full OST
- You're a completionist who wants every armor piece
Bonus deadline: Pre-order by September 24, 2026 (day before launch). The "First Light" charm can also be earned by carrying over a completed demo save file.
Deluxe Edition (¥338 — +¥40 vs Standard)
"Way of the Sword" Cosmetic Pack
Digital Artbook
Verdict: Worth the ¥40 if you care about art/design. The cosmetic pack is nice but non-essential. The artbook is the real value here.
Premium Deluxe Edition (¥388 — +¥50 vs Deluxe, +¥90 vs Standard)
"Legacy of the Oni" Armor Set
An exclusive armor set inspired by previous Onimusha protagonists:Important: These items have actual gameplay effects, unlike the Deluxe cosmetics. Jubei's Headband in particular — +2 frames on Issen — is a genuine advantage for players pursuing high-difficulty runs.
Early Oni Gift Unlocks
Three Oni Gifts are unlocked from the start (normally earned mid-game):This is a convenience item, not a power boost. You'd earn these naturally by the halfway point. For first-time players, it slightly smooths the early-game difficulty curve.
Original Soundtrack
Verdict: The ¥90 premium over Standard is justified if you plan to play on Brutal difficulty (Jubei's Headband's Issen window boost matters) or want the OST. For most players, Deluxe at ¥338 is the sweet spot.
